33. Opening Sequence Music Choices

Music For My Opening Sequence

For my opening sequence the theme is thriller therefore I need a thriller themed music for the background music to create tension and suspense.

I also need to take into account about copyright so that when I upload my video, YouTube won't mute the video due to copyright issues.

Also as my opening sequence will have two parts, I could choose two pieces of music from the section I am going to pick out.

Haunted Places by Alex Lisi -

Haunted Music Box by FL Studio & EWQL Symphonic Orchestra -

Ominous Wind by Peder B. Helland -

Horror Music by Kevin MacLeod -

The Feed by Sirius Beat -

Forsaken - Lilly Trailer Music -

Thriller Intro by Audio Jungle -

Detective by Royalty Free Thriller Music -

Scene 1: FADE IN:

EXT: WOODS - DAY

ACTION - In Hertfordshire the woods are empty and there is no sign of life apart from one teenager. The sound is of panting and heart racing as the teenager runs through the woods.

                                                         FADE TO:
EXT: OPENING IN WOODS - DAY

The woods are eerily quiet and there is not a soul in sight.Camera pans from left to right then back to the left and there is a black figure hiding amongst trees. Camera resting on floor towards the woods.

GRACE, British sixth form student, 16, is only one out of the many victims of THE STALKER.Dark brown hair swaying down and resting just above her shoulders and a tall, slim build of a girl.

GRACE runs past camera as spooky voices follow her. Scaring the life out of her and spooks shivering slowly down her spine. She runs over camera.

She stops to catch her breath the noises have stopped. Camera in the bushes to represent Stalker watching her from the bushes. She looks around her as she hears noises from in the forest. Camera circles her as she hears the voices faintly AGAIN.

GRACE runs with camera behind (handheld) following her. She stops and hears rustling in the woods, she looks around. Camera circles her. GRACE continues running, she trips and falls to the ground. She pants and feels her head as the sweat drips down her face.

Camera high shot circles GRACE. Camera comes up behind GRACE. GRACE turns as camera approaches then the scene cuts to black. An instant scream occurs.

Scene 2:
Black screen FADE IN:

The following events are what occurred 30 hours beforehand............: This text fades in and then out on top of the first shot.

FADE IN:

EXT/INT: Youth Club NIGHT

EXT ACTION: Six of the characters (Grace, Faith, Esther, Alex, Cathy and Hailey) are walking towards the Youth Club unawares of someone in the distance (THE STALKER).

INT:Once they are inside the building, Grace turns around and stands by the door as she is now aware that someone is watching them. The other girls continue to talk.

FAITH VICTORE, Grace's closest friend realises Grace isn't joining in the conversation but is staring into the distance, Grace feels chills running down her spine once she senses someone is watching her.

FAITH turns around to her right so that she is beside Grace and places her hand on Grace's shoulder
FAITH
Are you okay?

GRACE (Nervously replies)
Yeah I'm fine....I, uh, saw something but it was probably nothing

FAITH confused by GRACE's reaction shrugs her shoulders and turns around to continue talking with the others. GRACE continues to stare into the distance, knowing that there is something but not wanting to worry her friend.

GRACE makes eye contact with the figure in the distance. She scratches her neck feeling extremely cold chills down her spine.
Now the STALKER has seen GRACE and the STALKER has seen her, she is now one of his victims.

34. My Opening Sequence Title & Company Logo

I used Lucinda Bold font for the kind of old fashioned Gothic writing.

This is all the effects I used in creating my production title.

I chose a black background so that it was sinister and related to death and darkness.

The font i used was Copperplate Gothic Bold which gave it the creepy, sharp edge to it. I used the colour red to connote with death, blood, anger etc.

I used the effect Bevel and Emboss which gives the title the grainy and textured look.

This is all the effects I used in creating my movie title.

23. Mood Board

Thriller & Horror

A genuine thriller is a film that rentlessly pursues a single-minded goal - to provide thrills and keep the audience cliff-hanging at the 'edge of their seats' as the plot builds towards a climax.
People like Alfred Hitchcock & Agatha Christie have written famous thrillers.

Horror is a film genre seeking to elicit a negative emotional reaction from viewers by playing on the audience's primal fears. Inspired by literature from authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, and Mary Shelley, horror films have existed for more than a century.

22. My Rough Idea

For the opening sequence I would like to make the genre of it thriller. The features of this genre are that its purpose is to insert terror, panic, dread and fear into the audience. In most thriller films there is a person or persons, creature or event that the film is based around.
The films of the same genre that would be my inspiration the Evil Dead, Unfriended, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream and Sorority Row. I chose these 5 films as my inspiration because they all have one thing in common which is that they involve teenagers as the main characters which is the same as my story ideas.
The areas I may want to film my opening sequence are in back lanes to create a closed in atmosphere or a field where the character feels exposed and open to anything bad happening. For actors I could use family members or friends to be the scene.
